Our cacao comes from Tanzania, where our sourcing partners work with more than 5,000 smallholder farmers. It’s a relationship designed to produce exceptional cacao while making sure more of its value stays with the people who grow it.

And the cacao itself? It’s kind of magical.

Tanzanian cacao is bright, fruity and wonderfully complex, with notes of cherry, coffee and citrus. If your idea of dark chocolate is something heavy, bitter or one-note, this is something else entirely. You may never have tasted chocolate quite like it, and that’s exactly why we chose it.

For The Dark Protein and The Hazelnut Protein, we use a high-quality whey protein isolate, a complete protein with all nine essential amino acids. We chose whey not only for the protein it brings, but for what it does for the chocolate: it adds a subtle creaminess that beautifully balances the intensity and natural bitterness of 70% cacao.

For The Crunchy Creatine, we incorporate 100% premium-grade creatine monohydrate. Creatine is one of the most extensively studied functional ingredients around, best known for supporting strength, power and high-intensity physical performance. Research is also exploring benefits beyond muscle, with evidence suggesting creatine may support aspects of cognitive performance, including memory, attention and processing speed.

In other words, we choose ingredients that bring something worthwhile to the chocolate.

All Hædyn tablets are gluten-free and non-GMO.

The Crunchy Creatine is also dairy-free and vegan.

The Dark Protein and The Hazelnut Protein contain whey protein, which comes from milk, so these varieties contain dairy and are not vegan.

Yes. Heavy metals can occur naturally in cacao, so we take them seriously.

Our single-origin cacao is lab-tested for heavy metals, including cadmium, lead, and mercury, and the levels fall below applicable EU safety standards. Our supplier provides lab-tested specifications for every batch, so we know what’s in our cacao before it becomes Hædyn chocolate.

Great chocolate should come with high standards. Ours does.

Standard shipping is free on orders of $59 or more. Orders under $59 ship for a flat $8, and Express shipping is available at checkout for $15.

We typically prepare orders for shipment within 2–3 business days. Because chocolate prefers traveling during the week, we ship Monday through Thursday by 3pm Pacific whenever possible. This helps keep your order from spending the weekend in a warehouse or delivery truck and helps it arrive in delicious condition.

Once shipped, standard orders generally arrive within 2–5 business days. Need it sooner? Choose Express at checkout.

Hædyn tablets are real chocolate, which means they melt when things get hot. So we pay special attention to every shipment—especially during warmer months and when chocolate is headed somewhere sunny.

We use insulated packaging and check the weather at your destination before we ship. When the forecast runs hot, we may send your order by a faster service.

Still, sometimes the sun wins. For our fellow Texans, and anyone else who’s no stranger to the heat, we recommend adding an extra cold pack for $2.99 at checkout during particularly hot weather, or choosing Express shipping so your chocolate spends less time in transit.

A little extra insurance for your chocolate.

It happens. Chocolate can be a little temperamental.

If there’s any problem with your order, please contact us and we’ll do our best to make it right.

Occasionally, chocolate may break in transit or develop something called bloom, a harmless white or cloudy appearance that can occur when chocolate experiences changes in temperature. It might not look quite as pretty, but it’s perfectly safe to eat and just as delicious.
